Dr Greg Venning

Dr Greg Venning is a registered chiropractor based in Cape Town with over 20 years of clinical experience. His work focuses on spinal and nervous system function, supporting people across different life stages and physical demands, from babies and children to adults under sustained postural strain or athletic load.

He is a speaker and the author of Thrive, and is registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) and the Board of Healthcare Funders, and is a member of the Chiropractic Association of South Africa.

Clinical Focus and Approach

Dr Venning’s clinical work centres on understanding how the spine and nervous system influence movement, posture, recovery, and adaptation over time. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, his approach looks at the underlying structural and neurological patterns that shape how the body functions under physical, emotional, and environmental stress.

In practice, this means working with a wide range of presentations, including recurring pain, postural strain, developmental tension in infants and children, and the cumulative effects of modern life and athletic load. Care is collaborative, measured, and designed to help people better understand their bodies and participate actively in their health.

Professional Contribution and Leadership

In addition to clinical practice, Dr Venning contributes to professional discussions within the chiropractic field through authorship, advisory work, and governance involvement. He has also acted as an expert witness in matters relating to chiropractic care and spinal health.

Dr Venning is an international lead instructor for Advanced BioStructural Correction™ (ABC™) and has served on the board of Advanced BioStructural Correction™ Europe. He is also involved with the African Chiropractic Education and Research Foundation, supporting the ongoing development, education, and professional integrity of chiropractic practice.

Practice Philosophy

Dr Venning’s work is grounded in the view that health is not simply the absence of symptoms, but the body’s capacity to adapt, recover, and function with ease over time. By addressing spinal and nervous system balance first, care aims to reduce unnecessary compensation and support more efficient, resilient movement and regulation.

This perspective informs both clinical care and professional teaching, bridging practical chiropractic application with a deeper understanding of how structure, stress, and adaptation interact throughout life.

How much force do your stressors create?

How much force do your stressors create?

Now it’s important to realise from the start that not all stressors are bad. Stress is actually a vital part of life, in growing and developing. The first year of a baby’s life is a fight against gravity. This physical force (gravity) is a stressor that keeps pushing little wriggling babies down toward the ground. They are innately primed to resist the stressor and learn how to move against it. By struggling against gravity, they learn to roll, sit, crawl and eventually walk, run and jump – and don’t they just delight in their victory?
